Qualified Medication

Assisted Treatment

Overcoming the biological effects of the substances you have been using can be very difficult. Everyone’s brain is different and experiences different severities of these effects as well as different timelines for recovering from these effects. While some are able to stop using a a substance and begin rebuilding their lives, some have a very difficult time stopping the substance without use of medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Our qualified staff can assess if MAT could be an appropriate option for you in your recovery journey. These medications can be taken for a short period of time or may be taken long-term as you and your medical provider consider what will help you the most.

Scheduling

If you are interested in MAT services from CKF Addiction Treatment, you will need to begin by scheduling an assessment. Completing an assessment with an addiction health care professional will allow you to further understand your diagnosis and the health care options that may help you the most. The recommended counseling services will be a requirement if you begin services with our medical clinic.

Assessment

Following the assessment, you will meet with a CKF medical provider. The medical provider will visit with you about your substance use while also reviewing the summary and recommendations of the counselor who assessed you. This appointment will provide you with further support and guidance as you consider if medications are going to be best for you.

Medication

At your initial appointment, you will be administered your first dose of medication and monitored by our staff. We want to make sure that the dosing is appropriate and ensure that any reactions you may have to the medication are normal and manageable. You will then be scheduled for your follow-up appointment by our nurse.

Medication with counseling for long-term success

Some medications allow you to get a prescription and take the medication at home while others require that you come into the clinic to get your dose.

Our medical staff will work with you on a plan to make sure that the process is safe and help manage your addiction for long-term success.

There are individuals who begin MAT with the plan to take it for a short period of time to assist their initial sobriety efforts. There are also individuals who find that the medication helps manage their sobriety and focus on other important areas of their lives so well that they choose to take it long-term. Either of these options are okay, and our medical staff will provide feedback and recommendations on the pros and cons of each.

Giving you the balance to create stability

MAT can help the brain function at an optimal level so that the negative effects of stopping substance use are minimized. This is helpful when you are focusing on a plan of care that touches so many areas of your life and depends on your ability to feel balanced day to day.

We are here to make your first step towards recovery a little bit easier.
