This eight-week program is designed to help the client learn to manage anger effectively, to stop violence or the threat of violence, to develop self-control over thoughts and actions and to receive support from others in a group counseling environment.
Group counseling can be a successful approach in anger management. Group counseling will have a trained leader conducting each session and unlike family therapy, members of the group don’t know one another. Group counseling sessions can be conducted in varied therapeutic settings and levels of care. Group counseling provides motivation and peer support to the person dealing with anger.
Contact the Salina office for information on when this class is scheduled.
Clients in anger management will be asked questions about their anger issues, and possible triggers, as well as personal history and family history.
