Kansas Certified Peer Mentor (KCPM) certified or ability to become certified.
Position Summary:
The Transportation Specialist transports patients to and from our Residential and Sober Living programs in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety practices, and patient care standards. In addition, this position will also provide interim and backup services to our Pathfinder Recovery Center as needed, facilitating individual and/or group peer support services.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Works closely with patient care areas to coordinate efficient patient transport needs throughout the agency
- Maintains, visually checks, and cleans transport equipment. Notifies supervisor of service and/or maintenance issues as referenced in the Transportation Manual
- Compassion for individuals struggling with addiction, empowering them in their journey toward recovery
- Scheduling and maintaining ongoing maintenance records for the vehicle
- Provides excellent customer service to both patients and employees. Works as a team by showing courtesy, respect, professionalism, working to cover departmental staffing needs, and meeting department and organizational objectives
- Ability to collaborate with a team to support the patient throughout their continuum of care
- Willingly shares personal recovery experiences, if applicable, normalizing that addiction is a chronic disease and that recovery is possible.
- Facilitates connections and linkages for patients and the recovery community, if applicable
- Ensures frequent communication with hospital and treatment staff to promote continuity of care
